Kreuzberg is a magnet and melting pot of sheer creativity. The people who live and work in our favorite district of Berlin all seem to be at least a little bit crazy about their lives here. Whether hanging out at Görlitzer Park or raving the night away at your favorite club, it’s the many different layers and styles of living that make it exciting to be in Kreuzberg.

Creative Match Kreuzberg is a series of event that wants to showcase this creative energy and invites artists, visitors and musicians to participate. Twelve nights in twelve different locations. Some of the dates have already passed, but we want to introduce you to some of the highlights of the upcoming weeks that we will most likely attend. Our friends from iGNANT have covered many nights before and we’re happy to join them around for the next batch of events.

Photography, art installations, concerts, performances, design: whatever you heart is beating for, you’ll find it around here. But creativity in the Kreuzberg sense goes beyond the usual display of works — here, it might be just as important to see the whole process of creation. Check out the iGNANT coverage of the “behind the scenes” works of the participating artists to see what goes on alongside the events. One of my favorite videos is the feature of Manuel Osterholt (a.k.a. SUPERBLAST) who presents his photography from all around the world.

CMK might also be a good excuse to check out various locations around the Kiez. I’m sure there’s an interesting spot here an there you haven’t been to yet, we’re giving you the opportunity to see them in the best possible light. These are the events we’re definitely going to check out:

25/10: Loftus Hall Swing — 22 h — The Loftus Hall is preparing for an evening full of Swing spirit! Polish Coffee from Budapest are going to play their Gipsy-Style dance music so you’ll be able to hear something different from Techno for a change.

31/10: The Wye Fashion Monster — 21 h — Fashion installations, a Halloween mask ball and a party at the former post office in Kreuzberg. Sounds like this is something we definitely can’t miss out on.

10/11: Suol/KeineMusik Artclubnight at Watergate — 24 h — The last event of the series will be presented by the two most popular techno labels of Berlin-Mitte, Suol and KeineMusik, embedded into the scenery of stunning Watergate-Club and with no less than a dozen different forms of art that will be created during the night.

Check out the program for all of the events and head over to the official website for a full overview.
