Our Big City Balcony

Wanting to be outside in the summer (on a note: I stepped outside today and I wanted to let you know that summer is over and we can finally go back to eight more months of darkness and bitter cold!) and wanting the convenience of cold drinks and a kitchen and a toilet at the same time is usually difficult to achieve. And while we aren’t stingy when it comes to life in general, paying an entrance fee every time we want to “hang out” just doesn’t feel right.

So Marcus and his flatmates came up with a makeshift balcony in front of their building. It’s particularly exciting because we get to sit on one of the liveliest streets in Kreuzberg, but not really on it. People love to wave to us when they pass by and more often than not, friends come around to hang around with us, to drink with us, to eat with us up there. I’m not sure if it’s legal to misuse the construction scaffold, but nobody’s complained so far. And what can I say? This is better than any detached-from-the-world balcony. Lucky we caught a few sunrays before winter struck again… (if you haven’t noticed, I’m truly bitter about the weather. What the fuck!).

Ich würde die Dekoration des Gerüsts sogar noch mehr ausbauen ; )
