All the sneaker fiends in and around Ber­lin had only one place to go on Sunday: Sole­mart! The annual col­lect­ors mar­ket for all of us crazy sneaker fans is hos­ted by the most pop­u­lar brands for kicks and sup­por­ted by some of Ber­lins finest shops (Overkill whaddup!).

It’s not a flea mar­ket, mind you; some of the “rest stock” and spe­cial edi­tions are solely for the very eager col­lect­ors. As for the ladies, well, I have mini feet. It’s already tough to find the shoes I want in usual retail, at Sole­mart — nearly impossible.

While not the most spec­tac­u­lar shop­ping exper­i­ence, I have to give up some credit for the par­ti­cip­at­ing hosts for chos­ing such a cre­at­ive loc­a­tion, the Plan­et­arium in Pren­zlauer Berg. Though a bit too dark for my taste, it had a great atmo­sphere and set­ting. I’d never been inside the build­ing so that’s a first for me.
