Audi Urban Cinema Recap

Last week, we gave away tickets for the temporary Audi Urban Cinema that was set up for the second time in Berlin. Many of our readers participated in the give-away, so we decided to jump on the train and see what the noise was all about. Right next to Alexanderplatz - with a wonderful view of the Fernsehturm and an even better view of a large movie screen - stood a huge fleet of Audis in which one could enjoy the rather mediocre "Wolverine" that Friday night. But the movie wasn't our main concern after all. The burgers, drinks, popcorn and ice cream - all enjoyed in the company of a slick ride - were way more interesting. I fell in love with the hot red R8 Spider and the A8 limousine, a battleship with built-in massage seats that picked us up and brought us back home, and I never knew that I could fall in love with anything that had four wheels... Audi definitely knew how to stage an Urban Cinema and I'm really hoping we'll see another round of it this summer. Thanks to Audi for inviting us over.

Stadtbad Tiergarten Open Air

A wonderful summer open air in the former Stadtbad Tiergarten - the premises don't exist anymore. The "Schwimmbad im Poststadium" had been closed since 2002. It was planned to re-open as addition to the still existing Stadtbad Moabit. As far as I have found out (this update is from 2016), there's currently a temporary tentstation / camping space in the vacancy.

Voll Schön Open Air at Modersohnbrücke

Once upon a time, it was still possible to set up a sound system spontaneously on Modersohnbrücke to dance with your friends. Alas, that doesn't work quite so easily anymore (especially if you try and create an FB event for that, too - police is up your ass in 3 minutes, tops!)

Görlitzer Park

Volkspark, Mauerpark, Tempelhof, Hasenheide, Tiergarten, Humboldthain, if there's one thing Berlin doesn't lack, it's parks and gardens. Among all of the possible choices I've always had one favorite for no other reason than its people and its location: The Görlitzer Park in Kreuzberg. Regular raves, spontaneous grilling activities and the closeness to all the important (ie the liveliest) Kiezes make it easy and fun to visit when the sun is out (pro-tip: go when you're hungover, it's better than wasting the day in your bed and has the same curing effect).
